Success for Junior Judo Club at Belfast competition
From the club Caitlin McMahon won a convincing Gold medal while Jack Matthews, Sam Clements and Emma Kennedy all won well deserved Silver medals.
This was an especially impressive performance as all the Coleraine players had clear wins and some against more experienced judoka.

Hide AdIt was also Sam and Emma’s first ever competition, so a big congratulations is due.
In addition to the competition there was a “Red Belt Rumble” for budding judoka who were under 8 years of age and comprised of a series of judo related games and exercises.
These events target young players because it is forbidden for children under the age of 8 to compete at judo.
This session was organised by visiting Coach Development Officer Dermot Heslop 6th Dan from the British Judo Association.
