Second string beat Banbridge

THE game started off well with Ballymoney dominating the game.

Karen Morrison, Anne Dempsey and Laura McCurdy put Banbridge under pressure with numerous chances but unlucky to score. Banbridge then broke through wanting a goal but the strong defence of Sarah Black, Clare Black, Becky Greer and Rachel McCaughan kept the balls well clear.

Danielle Sweeney made excellent saves ensuring a goal was no too be conceded. Unluckily a penalty corner was given and Banbridge managed to find themselves a goal. The Toon girls did not take this lightly. Fresh legged forwards, Cara Ferguson and Shannon Smyth worked hard and received a goal bringing the score even before half time.

In the second half Banbridge came back fighting but Ballymoney continued to dominant. Midfields work rate was high, sharp passes between Lauren Mullan, Cathryn Knipe and Jessica Smith effectively pushed the ball up the pitch. The effort paid off when a paced ball was played to Rachel MaCaughan who slotted the ball into the back of the net - bringing the Toon ladies out on top!

The final score was 2-1 to Ballymoney. Over all the youthful team played well and would like to thank Diane for coaching and also the supporters as well.
