Carrickfergus boxers to compete in Dublin

The team from Evolution Boxing Club, which is made up of Skye-Leigh, Sophie Mclintock, Mckenzie Neill, Megan Bell, Elke Dunnigan and sisters Zara and Zoe McCaughran will take part in the Esker All Female Box Cup.

The team of young athletes from the West Street gym will travel to the event in Lucan alongside coaches from the east Antrim club for one of the biggest opportunities and biggest stages of their boxing journey to date.

Ahead of the event, which runs from Friday, October 14 until Sunday, October 16, head trainer Iain Mahood said: “The girls have a great opportunity and experience here.

"They have all worked extremely hard and ready to take on the challenge and opportunity.

"The competition is an all-female tournament and sees opposition from across the world coming to it.”
