NW200: Superstock race rescheduled for Saturday

Thursday night’s scheduled Superstock race was postponed until Saturday after a red-flag incident at Ballysally Roundabout.

Hungarian rider Sandor Bitter came off the T&R Motorsport BMW on the opening lap of the scheduled six-lap race, bringing out the red flags.

Anticipation was high for the final race of the evening with fans expecting a thrilling race in the pleasant sunshine.

However, Bitter’s accident left the organisers with no choice but to call the race off with time running out.

He was taken to the Causeway hospital for a check-up after being treated at the scene, but did not sustain any serious injuries.

Six races are now scheduled for Saturday, including both seven-lap Superbike events plus two Superstock races and the final Supersport and Supertwins events. Roads close at 9.30am.
