Barnes pulled a goal back for Civil Service but Mossley held out for the win. They are now due to take on Instonians in the Boxing Day final (3:30pm).
Twenty-four hours earlier Mossley secured their first Premier League point of the season with a scoreless draw at home to Belfast Harlequins.
