Team 11 still leadthe way at Foyle

With seven cards returned in the Desmond Motors Winter League at Foyle and the teams now having to drop their lowest scores.

Team 11 Ciaran Gillen, Ryan Gillen, Caolan McLaughlin and Scott Kennedy have consolidated their lead with another excellent score of 100 points and an accumulated toal of 574 points and lead the chasing pack by fifteen points with three cards still so count.

In second place at the minute is Team 25 of John Jennings, Mark Doherty, Jim McFadden and Dermott Harkin who have 559 points and Team 20 of Kieran Bradley, Martin Loughrey, Brendan Barr and Jay Lucas with 547 points are currently in third spot.

While week eight of the Foyle Sunday Society again had a very good turnout with less than favourale playing conditions, but Neal Cooke (12) made light of the conditions to post a very impressive winning score of 44 points, Andrew Temple (14) was four points adrift in second place after returning 40 points and Kieran Bradley (12) finished third with 38 points.

The best round of the day was compiled in the Juvenile competition, by 10 handicapper Caolan McLaughlin, who was one under par playing the eighteenth hole but finished with a bogey for an excellent level par round for his 46 points in second place was the ever improving David Knox (19) with 42 points.

The turket winners were David Knox, Kevin Crumley, George Fitzpatrick and the ladies winner was Agnes McLaughlin.

The Desmond Motors Winter League continues daily until this Saturday, while the turkey competitions also continues day, there will be a Christmas Hamper on offer this Sunday.

The Sunday Society will return on December 11th with the Christmas Hamper and all Sunday Society Members playing are asked to enter their names on the sheet provided in the shop no later than this Sunday, so as to facilitate tee times.
