He had birdie putts on most greens and with better luck could have broken par.

He holed a good putt on the fifth to save par but three putted from close range on the sixth to drop a stroke. A birdie three on the ninth left him out in 36.

He went one under par with a four at the 12th but dropped a stroke at the 15th. He finished with three pars for a level par 72 - a very impressive score indeed.

Birdies at the ninth and 13th helped Barry Cathcart (18) to accumulate 40 points after 17 holes.

Unfortunately, he could not add to his total as a no score on the last cost him victory.

Lewis Darragh (10) and Josh Robinson both finished on 39 points with Josh’s better back nine securing third place.

For the gross prize, Ryan Symington was one stroke ahead of Chris Moulds on the final tee. Ryan’s three against a four from Chris left them level on 71.

Ryan’s back nine 36 was enough to secure the prize on count-back, edging out Chris’ 37. To cap off his day, Ryan even had an eagle two at the second, where he holed his pitch to the green.

The Lisburn greens have never been better and it was no surprise that nine competitors finished on 38 points.
