Jacqui claims top billing on Lady Captain’s Day at Raceview

Amidst the showers Heather McGarry shone to claim the top prize on Ballymena Golf Club’s Lady Captain’s Day.

Heather accumulated 34 points and edged out the other members who turned up to celebrated Mary Kearney’s big occasion.

The gross prize went to Jacqui Brown (22) while the Sectional prizes were won by: A - Eileen Hudson (34); B - Sandra Lennox (34); C - Roisin Quigley (32).

Other winners on what turned out to be a great day’s action and entertainment were as follows:

Committee - Barbara Totten 31; Front 9 - Colette Delargy 18; Back 9 - Elma Holdstock 20; Nearest the pin at the 4th - Jill Black; Longest Drive at the 18th - Elma Holdstock; Putting - Jacqui Brown 27; Nine Holes Ladies - Hazel Cunning 14; 13 Holes Men - Gerry Rafferty 30; Visitors (Nine holes) - Joan Brennan 20.

Jacqui Brown was the only competitor to record a two, which she did so at the seventh.

Also last week the Broughshane Rosebowl was won by Jill Black with 71 points, two shots clear of runner-up, Roisin Quigley, who edged out the on-form Heather McGarry courtesy of a better back nine.
