Charity wins at Down Royal GC

Down Royal hosted a charity golf competition on Saturday July 27 in aid of the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children.

Participants were competing for the Briggs Memorial Trophy, given in remembrance of a past member of the Down Royal, the late Gary Briggs and his son Jonathan. The good weather and a very large turnout also helped contribute to an exciting morning of golf. The competition was eventually won by Cecil Orr with a score of 42. Mr Stanley Wilson with a score of 39 took second place and Nick Oates with 39 took third place. The prizes were presented by Mr Bill Briggs. The competition, sponsored by S.D Brown Funeral Directors, raised a generous sum of money for the chosen charity.
