Chambers wins at Prehen

TEN handicapper John Chambers realised his long held ambition of single figure status and won a gold medal into the bargain when he scored 42 points for a well merited victory in Saturday’s Medal competition at Prehen.

A superb front nine of 23 points that remarkably included a blank on “Swilken” (the notorious water hole) set the tone for his great round and his second major win of the season.

Robin McClay (19) took the silver medal on 41 points, 22 of them on the back nine where he had two birdies and a blank for good measure.
