Angus wins Casement Cup

Angus Iliff has won this year’s Casement Cup match-play competition at Ballycastle Golf Club, beating Liam McGarry in Friday’s final.

Liam had a great run in the cup this season but came up against a formidable opponent in Angus who has now won an incredible five Casement Cups and his victory in the Valencia Cup earlier in the year means he remains unbeaten in club match-play throughout 2011.

Over 100 members took part in Saturday’s stableford competition at Ballycastle with Michael Close coming out on top thanks to a brilliant score of 45 points.
