Telford confirms Addis departure
Carrick Rangers’ assistant-manager Colin Telford has confirmed that Jonny Addis has left the club to join Irish Cup winners, Glentoran.
“Jonny had been invited to a trial with Ballymena United but he spotted that Glentoran were having open trials and went along and they obviously liked what they saw. The guy wants to play in the Premier League and if that is the route he wants to go down, then fair play to him,” Telford told the Times.
“It is disappointing to lose a quality player like him who has come up through the ranks, but he has his own ambitions, just like the club has their own targets also. The fact that those aims didn’t enable him to stay is unfortunate, but that’s how football is.”
