Opening defeat for Junior side

County Armagh’s Junior side lost their opening game against Glasgow Rangers on Monday evening.

The visitors from Scotland grabbed an early goal and went on to win 3-0 thanks to additional efforts either side of the break.

The locals were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet when Pablo Andrade fired a shot past the post in the first half following a slick turn, then hit the frame of the goal after the interval.

“The early goal for Rangers made it difficult and left our boys deflated,” said Dean McCullough, the County Armagh Milk Cup Association chairman. “We were not able to impose our way of playing on the match.

“They hit the bar a few times and looked a decent side, with plenty of pace up top.”
