Keeper's departure turning point game

Indeed the visitors started very brightly and new signing Jamie Tomelty, making his debut, was very active during this opening 15 minutes with two long range efforts not far away plus setting up his strike partner Ritchie Thompson who also fired wide.

Then came a disastrous three minute period which changed the whole game. Moyola scored with a free header from a corner and two minutes later it was game over when keeper McPartland was sent off for bringing down the striker after he dropped a back header from midfielder Hughes and the resultant penalty was duly despatched low into the corner for 3-0.

Lavery nearly got Dollingstown back into the game but his free kick crashed against the bar and was cleared and Moyola took full advantage of the extra man to score two more before the break.

Manager Gary Duke made two changes at half time to change the shape of the team with Denver and Gibson coming on for Coleman and Rodgers.

These changes worked as Dollingstown dominated the next 30 minutes and pulled a goal back on 52 minutes through Thompson after great run down the left by Tomelty.

Gibson then hit the bar from 25 yards as Dollingstown went full out to try and get back into the game on 70 minutes but all the hard work was undone on 75 minutes when Lavery lost the ball on the right wing and Moyola punished them on the break.

Then in the final few minutes Dowie wrapped up the game when he drove in at the near post from a right wing cross.

The loss of the keeper completely changed the game

This Saturday Dollingstown welcome Banbridge Town to Planters Park at 3.00pm. Banbridge leapfrog Dollingstown in the table following an unbeaten run of 11 games.
