Hoops look forward to visit of the Reds

Champions Cliftonville will bring their strongest squad to Knockramer Park tonight (Thursday) as they continue their preparations for the glamour Champions League clash with Glasgow Celtic next Wednesday night at Solitude.

Lurgan Celtic pulled off a major coup in getting the Reds to play the friendly, but following the Euro draw it has added even more spice to the game.

“Who would have thought that Cliftonville would be involved in such a high profile game. We are thrilled and looking forward to the match,” says Lurgan Celtic manager Ciaran O’Kane.

“It is fantastic to have Tommy Breslin and his team here and hopefully we can do ourselves proud. For us the match is not about the performance, it is all about the occasion.

“It is a great opportunity for my players to see how they handle the league champions.

“We have a lot of changes to our side since we finished the season. A number of players have left including Daniel Ryan who has joined Premier League side Ards. We are disappointed to lose him, but he goes with our best wishes.”
