Duke nets all four to see Dollingstown to the points

The game itself produced a feast of goals with Dollingstown coming out on top mainly due to the shooting skills of Aaron Duke who bagged all four goals.

Not easy for the manager to heap praise on the man of the match as Aaron is his son, but dad Gary was pleased with his performance. “Aaron was the best player on the pitch and he took his goals well. Anyone who scores four in a game is doing something right,” said the boss.

“However, overall it was not one of our best performances. We were a bit rusty and gave away goals by making silly mistakes.

“We were fortunate in the end that they did not cost us vital points. We were poor in defence and generally all through the team we had an off day. The good thing about it is we got the win, we got the three points and that is what is all important.” In a mostly laboured first half the home side only went into the break one goal to the advantage.

That goal came when a shot from Colin Cunningham was spilled by the Fivemiletown goalkeeper and Aaron Duke was quick to pounce.

Shortly into the second half Dollingstown gifted the visitors an equaliser but Duke restored the lead before making it 3-1. Again the visitors replied but Duke added number four.

Near the end Fivemiletown added some gloss to the scoreline with a late strike.
