Craig is new Kilroot boss
Craig takes over from Terry Thomas who stepped into the breach at the last minute last season, after Trevor Gault and Stephen McAteer resigned before the campaign got under way, following poor turnouts at training. However, Terry always intended to relinquish responsibility at the end of the season to concentrate on off-field matters. Rec had Robert McKee lined up as their new boss, but, as we reported last week, he took the offer to link up with Jim Pherson as his number two at Barn United.
Alan Craig has been at Kilroot previously, as second-team manager back in the late 1990s, before spending a season as first-team coach under the man he now replaces, Thomas.

“Credit to the boys who kept it going last season but, hopefully, this year we’ll get a good pre-season behind us, something Kilroot didn’t have last summer.”
