The team for the game will be pretty much along similar lines to that which won Section 1 last year.

Overseas player Kaushik Aphale has returned from his winter spent in Australia and he will probably need to play an instrumental role this season if the club are to retain their place in the league.

CIYMS boast several new signings including ex-South African international Justin Kemp and he along with new captain Nigel Jones, Chris Dougherty, Zach Rushe, Allen Coulter and Jonny Thonpson will form the backbone of a formidable side who are likely to be challenging for honours come the end of the season.

The Third XI also get their season underway with a derby at Wallace HS against Lisburn, while the Fourths begin on Monday away to Waringstown V.

On the eve of the 2016 cricket season Derriaghy have received sponsorship from C-Tec Belfast in the form of coloured playing shirts for their cup competitions for the next three years.
