CAI set for £1million redevelopment

THE governors of Coleraine Inst have announced the commencement of several exciting new building projects.

By far the most ambitious project is the building of a new river pavilion to replace the exisiting one opened in 1968 by the Duke and Duchess of Kent.

The new pavilion, adjacent to the River Bann, will cost £600,000 and will provide changing and training facilities for a variety of sporting activities carried out by the school pupils as well as storage facilities for boats.

Other projects include: staffroom refurbishment, extension and refurbishment of Sixth Form Centre, refurbishment of three classrooms, a new Vice-Principal’s office, a fourth IT Suite and re-roofing of part of the Templeton Auditorium.

These projects are being funded entirely by the school which shows the commitment from the board and staff to make sure facilities are maintained, with more projects planned for the future.

A new fire alarm and CCTV system is also being installed.
