Brian to defend title in Copenhagen

A world title defence for Lisburn’s Brian Magee has been lined up against Rudy Makussen in Denmark on February 18.

Brian is no stranger to Denmark having shocked home favourite Mads Larsen for the European title in January 2010.

Last July Brian won his WBA belt in Costa Rica when he out pointed Jaime Barboza.

If Brian can make a successful defence in Copenhagen he is aiming for even bigger fights in the next year.

“I have to be careful. He is a hard hitter, but I have to fight like a champion,” said Brian. “I’m 36 now but this could be a big year for me. I am feeling good in the gym and now the countdown is on I’m looking forward to it.”
