400 Anniversaryevent underway
The now-annual successful Lurgan ‘400’ Anniversary Invitation Rinks Tournament started last Monday night with 13 teams participating in matches consisting of 18 ends in superb playing conditions and with the green at its best.
Two matches were played: P McGrail, Lurgan 21 v D Shanks, Dromore 7 and R Millar, Lurgan 19 v P Gourley, Hilden 12.
Other matches first round matches are being played on Wednesday and Thursday evenings of this week with succeeding rounds throughout next week and the final being on Friday, 2nd August at 6.30pm.
This year the tournament’s main sponsor is the Lurgan Credit Union and the prize money totals £400 with £200 for the winning rink, £100 for runners-up and £50 each for the losing semi-finalists.
