Eight lucky schools will be rewarded with an interactive tour of the Grand Opera House for the entire class and a contribution towards travel expenses.

During their visit, pupils will learn about energy consumption in a modern working theatre, and will have the opportunity to try out exciting theatre equipment such as lighting and sound desks as well as other visual effects machines, in a fun and safe environment.

Neil Holland from firmus energy said: “We feel this was a great way to demonstrate to schoolchildren the steps businesses go through to reduce their energy use which, in turn, they can use in their home.”

Entry forms for the competition have already been sent to all schools in the towns in which firmus energy supply gas and details are also on the Grand Opera House website. The deadline for competition entries is Friday, April 30.
