Update after M2 motorway northbound closed due to oil spill

The northbound stretch of the M2 motorway which was closed earlier this morning (Wednesday, February 15) at Greencastle has now reopened.

Diversions were in place while an oil spill was cleared and motorists were advised to allow extra time for their journey.

A PSNI spokesperson has since confirmed the motorway is now reopened.

Trafficwatch NI reported shortly before 7.30am that a traffic collision had taken place just after the Greencastle junction on the third lane of the motorway.
