Speed measures may deter anti-social driving in Cookstown

Cookstown Sinn Féin Councillor John McNamee has welcomed the installation of traffic calming measures at Fairhill in the town.

Councillor McNamee said: “The installation of speed measures on the Fairhill Road is a welcomed development and hopefully will deter those who use this area for antisocial driving.

"This has been a long process with much engagement from local residents.

"They had great concern about excess speed and unwanted noise coming from drivers who had little regard for those who live there.

"his will also go along way in providing a safe environment for those attending Holy Trinity Primary School and the Fairhil play park”.
