Section of Newtownabbey road closed for repairs

Motorists are advised that a section of the O’Neill Road in Newtownabbey is closed for footway resurfacing works.

The lane closure, which commenced this week, is operating from the Doagh Road to Prince Charles Way.

A Department for Infrastructure (DfI) spokesperson said: “The closure is required daily for footway resurfacing works.”

The work is being carried out by a DfI Roads contractor.

Road users are advised to expect an estimated delay of up to five minutes.

The work is due to be completed by 4.30pm on Sunday, January 24.

Last July Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon announced an upgrade scheme for the road.
