The Lifeboat managed rescue the vessel which was close to the rocks, and took them into Ballintoy Harbour where they were met by Ballycastle Coastguard and the boat was recovered onto the trailer.

Those on board the boat were not injured and the incident ended safely at Ballintoy Harbour.

Robin Cardwell Portrush RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager said: ‘This is the standard rescue that our crews are trained to carry out.

“The deployment of the Y boat to complete the tow is exactly what our crew are trained to do as the all-weather lifeboat could not have manoeuvred into the small harbour’
