Delays expected during Newtownabbey works

Motorists are advised that a section of the Hightown Road in Glengormley is closed for works.

The lane closure, which commenced at 8am today (Wednesday), is operating from number 148 Hightown Road to the junction with the Upper Hightown Road.

A Department for Infrastructure (DfI) spokesperson said: “The closure is required for the replacement of a decaying pole.”

The work is being carried out by a BT contractor.

Road users are advised to expect an estimated delay of between five and 15 minutes.

The work is due to be completed by 4pm on January 20.
