Tractor run raises over £16,000 for Mayor’s charity
The event was organised by Trevor and Anne Tate who received tremendous help from their family and friends in hosting this event. The tractors gathered at Tate & Son Transport, Broomhedge, Moira and following registration and lunch, they left the yard at midday and re-assembled at the Ballinderry Road, Lisburn. They convoy left at 3.00pm and travelled down Longstone Street and Chapel Hill then onto one-way system around the City, travelling back Longstone Street to the Moira Road and back to Tate’s Yard.
On Saturday evening about 600-700 people hundreds packed Tate’s barns for a steak BBQ with entertainment organised by Trevor’s brother, Boxcar Brian which featured Hugo Duncan and Farmer Dan and his band. The Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Brian Heading, attended both events and during the evening Margaret McClelland, Lisburn 2gether Fundraiser presented a gift to Trevor and Ann in recognition of their hard work in organising and co-ordinating these two most successful fundraising events.
