Staff urged to make the right choices
The programme was kick- started last Wednesday in Council Headquarters at Cloonavin, where Council staff – in partnership with Asda Coleraine – were provided with healthy options for breakfast in order to raise support for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) NI.
The Council has been working in partnership with British Heart Foundation (BHF) NI for the past 18 months on the Borough’s ‘Coleraine Heart Town’ project, which delivered various initiatives to promote heart health messages, including the launch of a Heart Walk at Christie Park Coleraine, and Community based ‘Pass it on Training’.

Hide AdDebbie Blair, Health and Well Being Officer at Coleraine Borough Council, commented; “I would like to thank Sheila Palmer from Asda Coleraine for sponsoring the Big Hearty Breakfast at Coleraine Borough Council Headquarters, and to those who assisted in the preparation and delivery of breakfast on the day.
“This programme will continue with health and well being information sessions based on nutrition, stress awareness, winter driving tips, alcohol awareness and cancer prevention to name a few will take place throughout January for Council staff”.
