The most eye-catching entries in each category will win some fantastic prizes. In the P1 to P4 category the first prize is a three-wheeled Flicker Scooter, the second prize is a £20 Toymaster voucher and the third prize is a pair of children’s designer glasses.

For those in P5 to P7 category the first prize is a Nintendo DSi, the second prize is a £20 Eason voucher and the third prize is a pair of children’s designer glasses.

Jamie Stevenson, and Eamonn Murray, store directors at the Specsavers in Craigavon, said: “We are looking forward to seeing children use their imagination and colour to enter the competition. We would urge parents to keep a close eye on their children’s eyesight and would recommend that children have their first eye examination at around three years old or as soon as they can match pictures or point at things. Nonetheless, we do also encourage parents to bring their children in store if they are younger than three years of age. The earlier many common childhood vision problems are discovered the better the chance of correcting them.”

All entries must be submitted directly to Craigavon Specsavers store on or before Sunday, September 30. Each entry must have the child’s full name, age, primary class, address and telephone number clearly marked. The winners from each store respectively will be notified shortly after the closing date. Three winners across each category, six winners in total, will be chosen from both the Craigavon and Portadown stores.
