Smokie, The Drifters and The Fureys lined up for Christmas gigs

The Millennium Forum has lined up a host of big names for a series of Christmas and New Year concerts.

First up are The Furey’s who play the city centre venue on December 27.

If you are looking for an ideal Christmas gift, legends of Irish music and song The Fureys, will perform all their hits including ‘I will love you’, ‘When you were sweet 16’, ‘The Green fields of France’, ‘The old man’, ‘Red rose café’, ‘From Clare to here’, ‘Her father didn’t like me anyway’, ‘Leaving Nancy’ and ‘Steal away.’

The following evening, December 28, soft rock legends Smokie will perform for their 40th anniversary tour.

They’ll be performing their most famous hit singles including, ‘If You Think You Know How to Love Me,’ ‘Don’t Play Your Rock ‘n’ Roll to Me,’ ‘Lay Back in the Arms of Someone’ and their most popular hit single ever, ‘Living Next Door to Alice.’

This is your chance to reminisce a night most definitely not to be missed.

Then on December 29, The Drifters present ‘The Optimum Tour’ featuring the current lineup Michael Williams, Damen Charles, Ryan King and Daniel Bowen Smith. Including songs such as ‘Under The Boardwalk’, ‘Saturday Night At The Movies’, ‘Up On The Roof’, ‘Kissin’ In The Back Row’, ‘ComeOn Over To My Place’, ‘More Than A Number In My Little Red Book’, ‘The One’, ‘Think Twice’ and many more from The Drifters vast back catalogue.

The top quality music continues in the New year with The High Kings on January 2.

Finbarr Clancy, Brian Dunphy, Martin Furey and Darren Holden, renowned vocalists and musicians, have come together to create the most exciting Irish ballad group to emerge since The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem electrified the worldwide folk revival of the 1960s.

Then on January 11, three of Ireland’s most beloved artists: Sharon Shannon, Frances Black and Mary Coughlan come together for a night of music, songs and stories.
