Services team up at Eglinton airport

CITY of Derry Airport and the fire brigade have formalised an already "excellent working relationship" by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on how to deal with emergency situations at Eglinton.

The specialist expertise of the City of Derry Airport Fire Service in dealing with aircraft emergencies will be further enhanced following the signing of the unique agreement between the Airport Fire Service (AFS) and the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS).

The MoU will see both fire services share training, planning, advice and personnel in relation to emergency situations involving aircraft, not only within the airfield at the City of Derry Airport, but within the vicinity of the Airport also.
