Road Service is now realising that Cushendall is a major problem: McKillop

Glens Sinn Fein councillor Margaret Anne McKillop (pictured) would like to welcome the initiative that Road Service Northern Division has taken with regard to Cushendall.

There is currently traffic surveys being carried out that are monitoring volumes, turning counts, queue lengths and delays as well as parking. Cllr McKillop is delighted that Road Service is now realising that Cushendall is a major problem with a complete bottle neck at the corner.

She explained: “The one way system through the car park only newly set up is not working and actually making traffic at the corner a lot worse. Buses and Lorries are not able to get around the corner any easier.

“One of the footpaths on Mill Street is actually a lot larger than the other side if this footpath was made little smaller cars would be parking in a bit opening up more of the road.”

Cllr McKillop having just highlighted a few of the problems in Cushendall is looking forward to a response from the Road Service and the results from the surveys.
