Revealed: Portstewart's '˜new promenade'

Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council has released a first look at the final scheme design currently under construction along the Promenade.

Council has released this perspective of the new look Promenade in Portstewart.

The project includes high quality street lighting, new surfaces on both sides of the Promenade and new street furniture.

Mayor Michelle Knight-McQuillan welcomed the scheme as a major improvement to one of Portstewart’s most important assets.

“The Promenade is a significant competitive advantage for Portstewart. Council, with the support of the Department for Social Development, wish to ensure the asset is appropriately optimised for both residents and visitors alike”.

Construction of the £1,500,000 project by the main contractor Geda LLP started in January.

Despite unfavourable weather conditions progress remains on target for a late May completion.
