Revamp approved for Kilrea

Environmental improvements have been given the green light for the town.

At last Tuesday night’s planning meeting the application was passed and welcomed by members.

Under the scheme new pavements and lighting will be installed in the Diamond area.

A new cycle and pedestrian path way with planting and landscaping will be introduced from the Diamond to the jetty at Portneal.

Residents will also be pleased to know that the town will also be boosted by a new playpark with new landscaping and planting.

As part of the scheme new signage will also be installed in the town.

Members welcomed the revamp for the town.
