Punched windscreen of car after getting lift
Thomas Samuel McCready, Spelga Drive, Rathfriland, admitted criminal damage to the windscreen on June 27 this year.
He was fined £100, ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy and ordered to pay £377.51 to cover the cost of repairs.

Hide AdThe court heard that McCready had been given a lift and during the journey he punched the windscreen causing it to break.
It cost £377.51 to repair the damage.
The defendant was given time to pay the money but did not do so and was interviewed by police. He denied the offence.
A solicitor representing McCready said his client had been at a public house and was intoxicated.
He explained that in the car an allegation had been put to him which he denied profusely.

Hide AdThe solicitor added that when she did not accept that the allegation wasn’t true McCready punched the window.
District Judge Amanda Brady told the defendant that he was going to have to pay for the windscreen.
