Post 19 lobby group conference in Lisburn
Alliance Councillor Stephen Martin has welcomed the confirmation that the Post 19 Lobby Group will be hosting its first conference in the City at Lagan Valley Island on Wednesday May 14 from 9.30am to 3pm.
Mr Martin thanked Council colleagues for supporting the group’s efforts to raise awareness of post education provision for young people with severe learning disabilities.
He commented: “I am delighted the Post 19 Lobby Group which made up entirely of parents, family members, carers and supporters of young people with severe learning disabilities continue to press ahead with their campaign for greater awareness and provision.
“The Council has had a really good working relationship with the group since 2011 and I am pleased we are able to facilitate their first Conderence. Entitled ‘investigating the Alternatives’.”
