Police appeal for witnesses after schoolboy is hit by car

Police are investigating a road traffic collision in Glengormley in which a 12-year-old boy was struck by a car.

The incident took place at approximately 7.50pm on Sunday, October 18 on the Antrim Road, close to Sandyknowes roundabout.

A police spokesperson said: “The collision involved a 12-year-old boy and a moving motor vehicle, and although the driver of the vehicle stopped and spoke to the boy she left shortly afterwards. It is understood that a male also stopped and spoke to all involved.”

Police are appealing for any of the parties involved to contact them at Newtownabbey Station.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information is asked to contact police at Newtownabbey on the non-emergency number 101.
