Top charity role for Lisburn woman Emma Baxter

Leading sight loss charity the Macular Society has appointed Emma Baxter, who lives in Lisburn, as its new regional manager for the South and West of Northern Ireland.

Emma joins the charity from the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) and Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) where she was a research scientist.

Emma will be overseeing the Macular Society’s day-to-day operations in the Southern and Western Health and Social Care areas and strengthening its presence throughout the two regions.

Emma is married to Paul and they have two children: Elijah, five, and Isaac, two. The holder of a degree in Agricultural Technology, Emma is also a member of the Ulster Beekeepers’ Association. In her spare time, she enjoys needlework, knitting, painting, baking and cake decorating.

Emma said: “This is a really exciting time to be joining the Macular Society and I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”
