Double win for Carrick pharmacy

A local community pharmacy has received major accolades at the highly-esteemed Pharmacy in Focus awards.

The Health Centre Pharmacy Carrickfergus picked up both the Excellence in Pharmacy Practice and Training and Business Development Awards, thanks to an innovative partnership with the Mid and East Antrim Agewell Partnership.

Together, the two bodies applied for funding for four pharmacists from the Health Centre Pharmacy Carrickfergus to be trained by the Medicines Optimisation in Older People consultant pharmacist on how to identify older people living with frailty in the area and to address their needs in terms of isolation, low income, mental health and self-care.

The Pharmacy in Focus Awards saw more than 350 professionals gather at Crowne Plaza, Shaw’s Bridge, Belfast on Saturday night to not only celebrate pharmacists’ achievements, but to dance and network the night away at the 13th annual UCA-NI Dinner.
