Pensioner in house fire

A 76-year-old man was given oxygen therapy by firefighters after he inhaled smoke during an accidental fire at his home around 2.10pm on the Carmavy Road near Nutts Corner, last Wednesday afternoon.

A 43-year-old female was also treated at the scene for shock. Fire crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze which was in the living room of the bungalow.

Firefighters dealt with the incident by 3.33pm. One appliance from Antrim Fire Station attended the scene.
