Max’s Minions raise over £2,000 for muscular dystrophy charity
Newtownabbey marathon heroes, Max’s Minions have raised an incredible £2,126.93 for Muscular Dystrophy UK after taking part in the Belfast Marathon back in May.
Three-year-old Max Thompson has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, so his family decided to take on the challenge of the Belfast City Marathon to raise money for the charity, which offers support to local people with the condition and their families.
The Max’s Minions team certainly did him proud, with his aunt Terri Broadhurst running the entire marathon while other members of his extended family - including his granda Stuart Skelton - taking part in the relay.
The team completed the gruelling 26.2-mile run in a superb three hours 56 minutes and placed 383 out of 1,813 teams that took part.
