New faces at Larne Writers Group

January’s opening session for Larne Writers Group indicated an encouraging start to 2014. Meetings will be held on the first and third Saturday of each month from 2pm at Larne Library.

New faces continue to appear and all enjoy the members’ offerings of prose and poetry.

Group founder, the Amazon thriller writer Steven Gordon said: “These are excitingtimes for the Larne Writers Group. As well as drawing in new writers the spread of work being produced by our people is amazing,” he continued, “and we are of course delighted to have the support of the Larne Times by allowing our members’ work to be showcased each month in Chatterbox.”

Some members are already published both in hard copy or via self publishing routes such as Kindle. Others are knocking on the traditional publishing doors armed with completed novels screen plays and poetry collections.

While ultimately the longevity and success of Larne Writers Group will be alignedwith the success of its membership, the fundamental aim of the collective, the glue which binds its participants together, is in reaching out into the community to encourage literary talent to the surface. LWG is a supporter of arts in the community.
