The online service offers the public a range of catering-style bulk buys and smaller scale units with almost 500 fresh, frozen and chilled foods as well as cleaning and household products available.

Shoppers order and pay online at www.henderson.localfooddrops.co.uk up to 6pm and collect by vehicle at an assigned time slot the following day, Monday to Saturday from 8am until 4pm, at the food company’s base at 1 Hightown Avenue, Newtownabbey. Orders placed after 6pm will be available for collection within two days.

Mark Stewart-Maunder, Business Development director, explained: “Henderson Foodservice has designed this online shopping facility with the consumer very much in mind, enabling them to view and purchase top food and drink brands including our own bespoke collection for professional caterers, Country Range.

“We plan to add new products and ranges over the coming weeks and will take into consideration customer feedback as we develop and tailor the service to suit customer tastes and requirements.

“Government restrictions mean we all need to adapt to different ways of shopping and our new consumer service means no standing in queues and virtually eliminates the need for social interaction as vehicle registrations are recorded at the time of ordering. Customers on collection show their order receipt by mobile or a print copy from their car window, and our team will place the order carefully in the vehicle’s boot.”
