Mayor supports Rotary Club blood donation drive

THE recent extreme weather conditions have made it all the more vital for new and existing blood donors to come forward to the next session in Larne on January 12.

At this time of the year blood supplies run very low and the Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service is encouraging as many as possible to come along to First Larne Presbyterian Church hall on that day.

The Rotary Club of Larne have been promoting blood donation for several years, with the result that Larne is now one of the top blood donation towns in Northern Ireland.

Rotary Club spokesman John Shannon issued a fresh appeal to residents of the borough to make a point of donating blood, and was encouraged that Mayor, Andy Wilson, came along to the last session.
