The Semi-Final ties were drawn on the night which saw Barry Petticrew up against former Champion Brendan Petticrew in an All Cairncastle tie and Jason Kerr of Larne Bowling Club going head to head with Cairncastle skip Mark Petticrew.

Barry defeated Brendan 10-7 and Mark overcame Jason 12-4 and so The Final of this season’s Snoddy Singles was between brothers Barry and Mark Petticrew. Barry built a commanding lead over the first 6 ends of the Final to lead 6-2 which required a response from Mark. He responded in typical fashion to pick up a 1, 3 and 2 over the next 3 ends to lead 8-6 with 3 ends to play. Both players picked a shot each over the next two ends to leave the match in Mark’s favour at 9-7 up with the last end to play. Mark lay the match with Barry’s last bowl to come and unfortunately for Barry, he couldn’t change the head meaning Mark Petticrew was the winner of the 2016 Snoddy Singles.

The other Winner on the night was Autism Initiatives Northern Ireland, with £120 raised on the night leaving the grand total at £730.
