Man arrested over suspected drug dealing in Cookstown

A 31 year old man has been arrested in Cookstown on suspicion of several drug offences.

A PSNI spokesperson said officers attended a house in the Coolnafranky Park area of the town on Wednesaday night at a round 9.30pm.

“An amount of suspected herbal cannabis was seized. Further searches were carried out in the house and the man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A controlled drug, possession of a class B controlled drug and possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply,” said the spokesperson.

“He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.”

Sergeant Amanda McIvor said: “This incident is an example of the PSNI’s commitment to tackling the sale and supply of drugs in Northern Ireland.
