Magherafelt man Francis Stewart making ‘significant progress’ in hospital after road accident

The Magherafelt man who was knocked down and seriously injured on the Cookstown to Moneymore dual carriageway at the end of June, is making good progress.

Francis Stewart, who is a running coach with the Magherafelt Harriers club had been cycling at the time of the accident.

In a statement posted by friends on the charity Facebook page TeamCasper, they said his family has been overwhelmed by the support and prayers from the public.

“As you have seen over the last five weeks, the many photos and well wishes for Francis, how much he means to a lot of people,” they said.

“Francis is a giver, always helping and encouraging people, and has helped a lot of people in so many ways, nothing is a problem to Francis. A gentleman, a Friend to many.

“Francis has made significant progress but still needs your continued support and prayers on his road to recovery. Francis’ family are overwhelmed by your support. Many Thanks. Team Casper.”
