Loftus: Garvagh roads boost

Councillor Roisin Loftus (SDLP) has welcomed an assurance from Transport NI that they will undertake resurfacing work on Garvagh’s Main Street.

She said: “The Main Street carries heavy volumes of through traffic but it is also widely used by pedestrians going about their daily shopping. Unfortunately due to wear and tear the surface has deteriorated considerably.”

“The SDLP councillor went on: “Such work is not just good for road safety but the experience elsewhere is that it encourages people to shop locally given that they feel relatively safe to do so. It is also critical for the sake of school children who are crossing the street at the busiest time of the day.”
