Lisburn Ladies Hard of Hearing Group hold first meeting of season

THE Lisburn Ladies Hard of Hearing Group held their first meeting of the season on September 10 at Lisburn Elim Church.

The committee have worked hard to produce an interesting and varied programme and this first evening together boded well for future meetings.

The secretary had good news for Christmas festivities, with a lunch at a garden centre and the opportunity to browse and shop afterwards.

This new arrangement was heartily approved by all.

Members were saddened to hear of the death of Mrs Betty Sprott who passed away in the summer.

A practical demonstration of Floral Art followed, given by Mrs L Williamson and Mrs M Duncan from Crumlin Flower Club. They produced two beautiful arrangements and have many tips for success and what flowers and foliage they were using.

A ballot followed and two fortunate members were the delighted winners.

There was an exchange of books and magazines and a prize for the prettiest pill box was won by Miss B Smith.

Members look forward to the next meeting on October 8 when there will be memories of schooldays and a collection of photos when members were young.
